Rewritable card printer to reduce cost and resource reuse

The contact/non-contact IC card has a large amount of information storage and can also be rewritten in the chip. It also has excellent confidentiality. In the future, it will be more widely used by the government and the private sector. Visualizing the information stored on the IC card is also a must for the card issuer. For example, the second generation ID card prints photos, names, ID numbers and other information for general purpose visual recognition. However, in some enterprises with large mobility, or in the transportation and circulation fields, the card surface images are often not fixed and are often updated. The printer uses Reversible Thermosensitive printing to print directly on an IC card with a dedicated rewritable surface without the need for ribbon consumables. Each rewritable card can be printed 500 times. Why is this method having the same image security effect as the Thermal Dye Sublimation card printer? Reversible thermal and thermal sublimation are two distinct technologies, mainly in the printing principle and printing media. The sublimation card printing requires the use of a special ribbon. The working principle is that the print head heats the ribbon on the ribbon. The pigment is directly converted to a gaseous state, and then the gas is sprayed onto the card and imaged by a YMCKO.


Reversible thermography does not rely on ribbon, but instead uses a card with a dedicated rewritable surface. This special card face consists of 3 layers, the top is a heat-resistant protective layer, the middle is the recording layer (recording layer is either black or blue), and the bottom is the base layer. These three layers are called CR (Chemical Rewritable). The film can also be erased layer Rewrite. Its working principle is to induce the color development of the recording layer by the transfer of a specific temperature. The same image erasure is also achieved by a specific temperature. Currently, the recording layer is only black or blue, so only monochrome printing is possible. Attaching the CR film to the surface of the IC card forms a rewritable IC card.

 
The rewritable card printer is a unique printing method. Its high speed, low cost, environmental protection and other characteristics are unmatched by other printing methods. I believe this type of printing is gradually matured. Printers will gradually become popular, and defects that can only print monochrome will be further improved in the future development process.
